John Ikeda (pronounced: ee kedd uh) was born in Lethbridge, Albert in 1948. His family is of Japanese Canadian origin. John completed his B.A. of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge in 1971. He is a master potter and has received numerous awards throughout his career. His work is in seventeen collections worldwide some of which are the Art Bank Canada Council, National Museum of History Taipei Taiwan, Glenbow – Alberta Foundation Calgary and the prestigious Concorso Internazionale Faenza Italy.
John’s work has been exhibited in juried exhibitions from 1974 to the present time and he has also had many solo exhibitions in Toronto, Burlington, Troise Rivieres, P.Q., Ottawa, and Alberta.
