Margaret Ann Capper Galbraith
Margaret Ann has been creating and exhibiting her work since graduating from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics, 1977. Her education was further enhanced by a number of scholarships that enabled her to participate in conferences and study tours in Copenhagen, Denmark, Vienna, Austria and the Banff School of Fine Arts for three summers. She also participated in a European Pottery Tour in England, Spain and Italy. The excellence of Margaret Ann's work has been recognized by the New Brunswick Arts Board with the provision of a Creation Grant. She has received high recognition for her work with many awards. Her genre investigates the possibility of colour and translucency in liquid porcelain. Working on the potter's wheel is a spot of joy and relaxation from the intensity of her other studio work. “What a lovely object; a simple wheel-thrown pot, made by hand”.
