Mike Doxey
Our host Michael Doxey has been potting for 20 years, starting as a young boy under the tutelage of Marty Gross, graduating from O.C.A.D. and working in his own studio, Banished Moon Pottery, for 18 years. Over this time, He has designed and built five kilns, including his latest bourry-box wood kiln at his studio and home in Portland and has investigated a variety of firing techniques, including cone six reduction with ash-based glazes and wood-soda firing. Michael has work on permanent display in Japan, and has won numerous awards for his pottery and sculpture. He has an equally strong technical background, as a licensed gas technician and is currently working in the solar industry when not potting.
