Hands on Handbuilding Workshop with Raymond Warren

Due to Popular Demand...
We have added another workshop

March 14th, 10am - 4pm
This is a great opportunity to be lead through the techniques of
making a small sculpture by a master sculptor. Find out how to escape
from flat bottoms. Explore a simple way of building shapes that will be
temporarily jacked up by structural walls and to which it will be
possible to add extensions intended to eventually support or
complement the initial shape. The structural walls will also help to
foresee the sculpture in progress as well as to prevent distortion of
the completed parts.

Please bring your own 18" x 18" plywood board. You may bring your own clay
or buy clay at the studio which will include bisque firing your sculpture - $34
per bag. Please bring lunch, or visit the Subway or Pizza place across the road
from the Shenkman Centre.

Cost $65

To register phone Alanna Baird at 613 - 816 – 5554
space is limited to 14 participants
Workshop with Chandler Swain
April 11th,  10am - 4pm

Handbuilding for Throwers!

Learn to alter wheel thrown forms and enhance them with handbuilt
elements. These handbuilding skills can also be used without a thrown
component. The workshop will start with a demonstration followed by a
hands-on project geared to kickstarting the making of fabulous, exciting
pots and sculptures.

Think: fun, risk, play

Bring a few simple trimmed, thrown forms in slightly softer than leather-hard form:
deep bowls and cylinders with rounded silhouettes work well.

Cost $65
