POTTERY WORKSHOPS
Workshop with Bill Reddick
Sunday, September 26th from 10am-4pm
In this workshop Bill will demonstrate strategies to create large porcelain vases by using a sectional throwing technique that was inspired
by the Korean "Moon" vases (which were created in Korea during the Chosen Dynasty 1400-1910). Bill also employs an "inverted"
throwing method which is "seamless", a method he devised in 2002. There will be demonstrations of both techniques as well as discussion
and demonstration of some other techniques used to create his "Korean" tea cups, and a new "divided" fish plate. Following the
demonstration, Bill will show a slide show of his Korean trip and the evolution of the work produced for the Gardiner Museum Show
entitles "Cogito Sum Korean: I think I am Korean". Please join us for this unique workshop and watch as a master explains his work.
