In this week?s workshop, students will explore their creativity by making handbuilt cookie or cheese plates. Plates will be slab-rolled and a variety of decorative techniques will be demonstrated to create a distinctive piece you'll love for years! All glazes are food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.Price includes 2.5 hours of instruction, all materials, tools, and the glazing and firing by our technicians. Projects will be ready for pick up in approximately 3 weeks (participants will be notified via email). Here is your opportunity to enjoy one evening discovering the art of throwing clay during this 2.5 hour workshop. What to expect: - The first 20-30 minutes will be a demonstration - The next 1 to 2 hours will be spent throwing pots on the wheel – the whole class together at first so the instructor can ensure everyone’s successful first pot, and then students can continue at their own pace - The last 20-30 minutes the student will be instructed on how to clean their work stations – an important part of the pottery making process to maintain a safe and healthy studio environment After the workshop our technicians will trim and fire your pieces and they will be ready for you to pick up in 3 weeks. This workshop is open to clients 16 years and older. No previous experience required. All materials included. $99 +HST each. Come and relax while experiencing the joy of clay. The class will experiment with different decorating styles using patterns, embellishments, and underglaze colors and slips to enhance their work. There will be a deeper tutorial in glazing and decorating techniques to enhance patterns and textures on the students work. Materials included. No prerequisite is required. Ages:12 to adult. Please bring an apron or an old towel to protect your clothes.Au cours de ce cours de 6 semaines, les etudiants apprendront les bases de la façonnage céramiques fonctionnelles et décoratives. This more advanced class will push students to make more technically difficult forms. There is 1 hour lunch break Saturday and Sunday. Saturday there is a 3 hour break between demonstrations and Artist Talks. Coffee Gloucester Pottery School will provide coffee and light snacks Saturday and Sunday morning. We encourage you to bring a mug. You are welcome to bring your coffee into the Theatre. Glazing Session - Wed Feb 25 @ 1pm-3pm Session d'emaillage English / Anglais Wednesday/mercredi 10:00 AM 12:00 PM 2/25/2026 40 Register – Inscrire An opportunity for experienced active students who have taken at least one full session including glazing at Gloucester Pottery School to come and glaze the bisqueware they could not complete during class. There is no instructor for this session. Additional glaze firing fees per pot will be tabulated and payment taken at the end of the session. Limit of 6 clients at a time during each 2 hour block. Please note our glazes are specifically formulated to be used with our own clay bodies in our own kilns.
