Class duration 2.5 hours for 6 consecutive weeks. The student will cover the basic techniques for the beginner. You will first learn the art of centering the clay which will allow you make different pot shapes. Trimming a foot onto a pot and surface decoration is covered. Materials included. Handbuilding Level 2 - Tues @ 6:30pm Façonnage pour adultes - niveau 2 mar 18h30 Vanessa Villarreal English / Anglais Tuesday/mardi 6:30 PM 9:00 PM 7/07/2026 8/11/2026 359 Register – Inscrire This new course is an advanced level handbuilding course for those looking to challenge themselves with new, more refined forms and decorating techniques. It is geared towards those students who have taken a number of sessions and are now ready for something more complex to push their creativity. 10kg of clay included with more available for purchase. Prerequisite: at least one full session of handbuilding at Gloucester Pottery School. If you are unsure whether you have the necessary experience for this level, please contact the office. It’s just 15 minutes from downtown, 18 minutes from Rockland and just a few minutes walk from OC Transpo’s Orléans Station at Place d’Orléans. The closest major intersection is St. Joseph Boulevard and Place d’Orléans Drive. Driving Directions: Directions from West: Take HWY-417 E. Keep left to take Regional Road 174 E toward Orléans/Rockland. Take the Place d’Orléans exit. Turn left onto Place d’Orléans Drive. Turn left onto Centrum Boulevard. The Shenkman Arts Centre is on the left. Directions from East: Take HWY 17 W. Continue on Regional Road 174 W. Exit at Tenth Line Road. Turn left at Tenth Line Road. One Night Handbuilding - Luminary - Fri May 29 @ 6:30pm Une nuit de façonnage Vanessa Villarreal English / Anglais Friday/vendredi 6:30 PM 9:00 PM 5/29/2026 99 Register – Inscrire In this week's handbuilding workshop, students will roll and form slabs to create a whimsical luminary. They will be instructed step by step on how to construct the basic form the luminary, and are then encouraged to use their imaginations and a variety of decorating tools and techniques to get creative with their embellishments. Price includes 2.5 hours of instruction, all materials, tools, and the glazing and firing by our technicians. Projects will be ready for pick up in approximately 3-4 weeks (participants will be notified via email). This workshop is open to clients 16 years and older.
