They will be instructed step by step on how to construct the basic form the luminary, and are then encouraged to use their imaginations and a variety of decorating tools and techniques to get creative with their embellishments. Price includes 2.5 hours of instruction, all materials, tools, and the glazing and firing by our technicians. Projects will be ready for pick up in approximately 3-4 weeks (participants will be notified via email). This workshop is open to clients 16 years and older. The class will experiment with different decorating styles using patterns, embellishments, and underglaze colors and slips to enhance the work. There will be a deeper tutorial in glazing and decorating techniques to enhance patterns and textures on the students work. 10kg of clay included, with more available for purchase. No prerequisite. Wheel Level 1+ FULL DAY Fri 10:00am Tour niveau 1+ ven 10h00 Karen Kurtzrock English / Anglais Friday/vendredi 10:00 AM 3:30 PM 5/15/2026 6/19/2026 519 Register – Inscrire This full day class (5.5 hours for 6 consecutive weeks) is a 1+ level intended for intermediate students to improve their ability to center and throw consistently. This intensive class is about learning - not production - and rather than keeping every pot the student is expected to cut some of their pots and analyze them with the instructor to determine the areas that need improvement. The class will cover the fundamentals of wheel throwing in addition to introducing students to a variety of handle making techniques and surface decoration. This course is aimed at students who have taken level 1 wheel and have a basic understanding of wheel throwing. It is not intended for advanced potters who are looking for studio time to produce a large amount of work. The student can make up to 20 pots over the course of this session. Lunch break from 12-12:30pm - please bring your lunch! Materials included. Prerequisite: Level 1 wheel. Glazing Session Wed Aug 26 @10am-12pm Session d'emaillage English / Anglais Wednesday/mercredi 10:00 AM 12:00 PM 8/26/2026 8/26/2026 40 Register – Inscrire An opportunity for experienced active students who have taken at least one full session including glazing at Gloucester Pottery School to come and glaze the bisqueware they could not complete during class. There is no instructor for this session. Additional glaze firing fees per pot will be tabulated and payment taken at the end of the session. Limit of 6 clients at a time during each 2 hour block. Please note our glazes are specifically formulated to be used with our own clay bodies in our own kilns.
