Parent and Me Handbuilding Sun 12:30pm Façonnage - parent et moi dim 12h30 Victoria Rodgers Bilingual / Bilingue Sunday/dimanche 12:30 PM 2:00 PM 9/07/2025 10/19/2025 189 Register – Inscrire A wonderful way to share some special time in this activity with your child or grandchild. Each participant will register separately to create an individual clay project while learning about handbuilding pottery techniques such as: pinch pots, slab or coil building, and slump molds. Cost is per person - adults and children each make their own projects - and includes materials. Please note that each adult cannot register more than two children - the parent/guardian role is to have fun making their own project while also assisting their child with the steps as instructed by your teacher. For more than two children, an extra parent/guardian must register as well. Course is open for ages 6 years to adult Adulte et enfant aurant l'experience de poterie ensemble. Adulte et enfant seront encouragés à exprimer leur créativité avec chaque pièce. Chaque personne va inscriver individuellement pour créer un projet d'argile individuel tout en apprenant les techniques de poterie de façonnage à la main tels que: pots pincés, construction par plaques ou par colombins, extrusions, et moulage. Coût est pour chaque personne - les adultes et les enfants réalisent chacun leurs propres projets - et comprend du matériel. Veuillez noter que chaque adulte ne peut pas enregistrer plus de deux enfants - le rôle parent / gardien est de s'amuser à faire son propre projet tout en aidant son enfant avec les étapes comme indiqué par votre professeur. Pour plus de deux enfants, un parent / gardien supplémentaire doit également s'inscrire. Le cours est ouvert aux enfants de 6 ans à l'adulte $

Tickets There are several ticket options available: full weekend, Single day, Artist Talks only, student tickets and leading up to the conference there were Early Bird Tickets Buy Tickets Artists We have an amazing line up of Demonstrating Artists for this years Conference. Focus on Canadian Artists and members of equity seeking groups. Schedule The most up to date schedule of events is maintained on our events page. There is 1 hour lunch break Saturday and Sunday. Saturday there is a 3 hour break between demonstrations and Artist Talks. There are many food options in the area including restaurants, food court at Place d'Orleans and a Farm Boy grocery store. Coffee Gloucester Pottery School will provide coffee and light snacks Saturday and Sunday morning. We encourage you to bring a mug. You are welcome to bring your coffee into the Theatre. There is a Starbucks at the mall and a Tim Horton's just across from the mall. It’s just 15 minutes from downtown, 18 minutes from Rockland and just a few minutes walk from OC Transpo’s Orléans Station at Place d’Orléans. The closest major intersection is St. Joseph Boulevard and Place d’Orléans Drive. Driving Directions: Directions from West: Take HWY-417 E. Keep left to take Regional Road 174 E toward Orléans/Rockland. Take the Place d’Orléans exit. Turn left onto Place d’Orléans Drive. Turn left onto Centrum Boulevard. This intensive learning environment with daily lessons will not only be fun, but will help build a great foundation for further classes. Beginners are welcome, as well as those with previous experience who are looking to hone their skills. Our technicians will glaze your pots afterwards. Pottery is ready for pick up 3 weeks after camp. Ages 12yrs and up. This more advanced class will push students to make more technically difficult forms. Prerequisite: At least one level 1 and 1+ wheel class. Ability to center and pull walls up consistently, if unsure please contact the school to discuss which class is best suited to you. 10kg of clay included, with more available for purchase. In this week?s workshop, students will explore their creativity through handbuilt mugs! Once the form is created, the student will be instructed on how to decorate it using various techniques which may include wax inlay, sgraffito, slip trailing, or carving.Price includes 2.5 hours of instruction, all materials, tools, and the glazing and firing by our technicians. Projects will be ready for pick up in approximately 3 weeks (participants will be notified via email). This intensive class is about learning - not production - and rather than keeping every pot the student is expected to cut some of their pots and analyze them with the instructor to determine the areas that need improvement. The class will cover the fundamentals of wheel throwing in addition to introducing students to a variety of handle making techniques and surface decoration. This course is aimed at students who have taken level 1 wheel and have a basic understanding of wheel throwing. It is not intended for advanced potters who are looking for studio time to produce a large amount of work. The student can make up to 20 pots over the course of this session. Lunch break from 12-12:30pm - please bring your lunch! Materials included. Prerequisite: Level 1 wheel.
