Glazing Session Wed Dec 10 @ 1pm-3pm Session d'emaillage English / Anglais Wednesday/mercredi 1:00 PM 3:00 PM 12/10/2025 40 Register – Inscrire An opportunity for experienced active students who have taken at least one full session including glazing at Gloucester Pottery School to come and glaze the bisqueware they could not complete during class. There is no instructor for this session. Additional glaze firing fees per pot will be tabulated and payment taken at the end of the session. Limit of 6 clients at a time during each 2 hour block. Please note our glazes are specifically formulated to be used with our own clay bodies in our own kilns. Gloucester Pottery School showcasing the work of six diverse professional artists a year in the Dust Evans Gallery. Exhibitions are visible online and in person at the Shenkman Art Center, the gallery is locating on the lower level next to the City of Ottawa's Trinity Gallery. In the past the gallery has had exhibitions by a a diverse range of artists and moving into our 30th year we will seek to give more Dust Evans Gallery exhibition opportunities to artists in equity-seeking communities. Plates will be slab-rolled and a variety of decorative techniques will be demonstrated to create a distinctive piece you'll love for years! Thrown and Altered Sat 10:00am Tourner et modifier sam 10h00 Daniele Stewart English / Anglais Saturday/samedi 10:00 AM 12:30 PM 11/01/2025 12/06/2025 359 Register – Inscrire This six week class is perfect for students that are looking to push their wheel thrown pieces beyond simple forms and also push themselves creatively. Students will start by creating pieces on the wheel and then over the course of six weeks will manipulate the form and combine them with handbuilt elements. The class will include learning to design and plan ahead, surface decoration techniques, and playing with sculptural elements to enhance students' designs and ideas. This course is aimed at students who have completed Level 1.5 and are able to consistently center and throw a cylinder as high as it is wide. 10kg of clay included. Prerequisite: Ability to center and pull walls up consistently, if unsure please contact the school to discuss which class is best suited to you. This course is for students who have completed two to three courses on the wheel and who can consistently throw a cylinder, evenly, as high as it is wide. 10kg of clay included, with more available for purchase. Prerequisite Level 1.5. Ages 16 to Adult. In this week?s workshop, students will explore their creativity through handbuilt mugs! Once the form is created, the student will be instructed on how to decorate it using various techniques which may include wax inlay, sgraffito, slip trailing, or carving.Price includes 2.5 hours of instruction, all materials, tools, and the glazing and firing by our technicians. Projects will be ready for pick up in approximately 3 weeks (participants will be notified via email).
